Eunan

Eunan Byrne first began studying design in DIT Mountjoy Square
in 1991, having completed an Art Foundation course the previous
year in Stillorgan Senior College, he started his career in
design in the mid nineties.
Eunan is currently the company director of interior design,
and a director for design and build, for the John Duffy Design
Group, based in Monkstown, Co. Dublin.
The Crown Hotel in London, West nightclub in Dublin, and an
Irish Bar in Disneyland, Florida, are a flavor of just a few
of Eunan's recent projects. His project management duties
have taken him to locations far and wide, such as Grandee
O'Donnell's Irish Bar in Tenerife, Hennessey's Irish Bar in
Lisbon, and two Irish bars in the states - in Richmond Virginia
and in Washington.
While Eunan has lots of experience with the commercial side
of design, he also enjoys getting his teeth into period domestic
properties - as he did in Showhouse.
Eunan is a firm believer that it is possible to combine modern
style and clean lines, alongside classic period architecture.
In his Showhouse property he set out to create a stylish modern
space, that was practical and stylish, but at the same time
incorporated some key design features appropriate to the time
the house was originally built.
Eunan has just finished studying by night for a diploma in
project management from Trinity college, and is now hoping
to undertake a post grad diploma in construction law.
Eunan's ultimate challenge would be to design a public space
such as a church or library, which would be far removed from
his regular projects of nightclubs and bars.
In summing up his design style, Eunan says he puts particular
importance on clean uncluttered lines and not being afraid
to use new and innovative products and materials that come
to the market..
