Danann and Kathriona present SCOPE
Danann Breathnach and Kathriona Devereux are presenting their third series of SCOPE, the show that loves science, engineering and technology. They are well-known for SCOPE, but have a wide range of other experience in TV.

Danann

Danann has turned his hand to presenting, acting and directing. He has worked in television for seven years, starting as a researcher and working his way up to presenting shows in both the UK and Ireland. Danann was recently seen on the Channel 4 show Pepsi Max Downloaded with June Sarpong, and in Hollyoaks playing the Irish rogue Conor.

Danann recently went back to film making, directing, producing and editing the award-winning short film Dark.Bright.Red. SCOPE has been a great experience for Danann, sending around the world to cover science in places like Iceland, Japan and the US.

Kathriona

A citizen of the People's Republic of Cork, Kathriona graduated from Dublin City University with a degree in communications. She landed her first job in production - running (making tea at a TV production centre) - and hasn't stopped since.

She has worked behind the scenes on a huge variety of programmes including the Meteor Music Awards, Mother Knows Best, Meet the Family, Anna Nolan's first series for RTÉ, Ask Anna, the Special Olympics, The Des Bishop Work Experience and one-off documentaries Tall Tales and The Spire.

Experiments

The latest series of Scope sees Danann and Kathriona doing a lot of punishing experiments in the name of science. They include experiencing high G forces, competing in the ultimate fitness test and surviving at sea.

What they love most is the variety of the job. One day they could be glammed up and interviewing celebs on the red carpet. The next day it's over the edge of a cliff or plunging into the sea.

"It's hectic and fun and I can't see myself doing anything else," says Kathhriona.
