Las Vegas

Kathriona and DanannThe lights, the glitz, the glamour: there’s nowhere quite like Las Vegas.

Danann peeks behind the curtain with Tim Stanley, IT guru for casino chain Harrah’s.

Vegas is probably the surveillance capital of the world: what do all those cameras do, and what other technologies are they using to keep all those casino chips secure?

But Vegas isn’t just about the casinos – Kathriona goes backstage too, looking at the astounding engineering involved in the $160m Cirque du Soleil production, KÀ.

And where does the electricity to power all this stuff come from? We visit Nevada One, an under-construction solar power station that, when operational, will be one of the three largest such sites in the world.
