History of CES

CES Logo2007 is the 40th anniversary of CES.

Since 1967, CES has been the launch pad of technology. Inventions such as the VCR, CD players and camcorders have all made their debut at CES where people undoubtedly ooh-ed and aah-ed over them, or said ‘Pah! They’ll never catch on!’

vintage CESIn 1967 only 16% of U.S. households had a color TV, but by 1972, 49% owned one.

This year CES hosted 2,700 exhibitors and more than 150,000 attendees.
