SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - MEGHAN DIXON
Meghan is 21 and was born in San Diego. A fulltime student pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre, Meghan has a lifelong dream to perform on Broadway.
Meghan enjoys Irish dancing and is a Student Teacher at the Claddagh School of Irish Dance. Other interests include teaching children’s theatre, reading classic literature & plays, studying French, baseball, American football, yoga and dancing to keep fit.
Meghan’s maternal Irish roots are in Donegal, the McMillan family, who emigrated to Nova Scotia and latterly headed south to the United States.
Favourite entertainers include Dean Martin, Rosemary Clooney, Julie Andrews and The Beatles. “I would say my sense of humour is my greatest strength, being able to laugh, especially at oneself is important. Faith and spiritual strength are important to me. I am an optimist” is how Meghan describes herself.
Talking of home Meghan said “the area around our house is filled with orange groves and I love waking up on spring mornings and smelling the blossoms. Walking country roads, picking fresh grapes, seeing a coyote – that’s nature in California”. This is Meghan’s first visit to Ireland, indeed her “first adventure outside the United States”.
