QUEENSLAND - KATHRYN FEENEY
Kathryn is 23 and working part time as a Veterinary Nurse while she pursues a course in Arts & Education with a view to graduating as a Secondary School Teacher of English and Ancient & Modern History.
Kathryn admits that later she could very well pursue a career as a florist, podiatrist or entrepreneur!
Her Irish roots are in Ferbane Co. Offaly and Killarney, Co. Kerry and the baby of four children anticipates the entire family from the UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland will be in the Festival Dome supporting her.
Hobbies for the Queensland Rose include horse riding, going to the races, touch football, netball, reading, writing poetry but travelling is this Rose's passion! Her father and grandfather are veterinary surgeons so Kathryn has grown up surrounded by animals. At the last count the Feeney household was hosting 6 horses, two dogs, two cats, a Princess Parrot named 'Fido' and a 'Polish chook' in addition to Kathryn's pet Persian 'Bella'.
Hot buttered popcorn, the smell of freshly cut grass, the sound of children laughing, horses, kittens, anything pink and cheesy 80-s movies top the list of likes. People who sniffle, seeds in food (think tomatoes!) and arrogant people who belittle others are Kathryn's dislikes.
