PERTH - AISLING REID
Aisling is 25 and she works as an Occupational Therapist for children with special needs, a job she finds "challenging and very rewarding".
Future plans for the Perth Rose include a Master's in International Health with a focus on child, women, refugee and rural health. Originally from Wexford Aisling has been living in Perth for the past seventeen years.
She has 3 sisters and 2 brothers and expects a very large contingent of family and friends on hand to support her in the Festival Dome.
Aisling has an extensive list of hobbies including scuba diving, cycling, walking, yoga, salsa dancing, trekking and nature trailing, jewellery making and music. Likes for the Perth Rose include warm apple pie with ice cream, watching people reuniting at airports, vintage cars and dancing with her friends. Coffee, going to bed early and close-mindedness are her dislikes.
Aisling is a friendly and outgoing person who has a passion for human rights and values cultural diversity, and feels she is able to adapt well to new circumstances. "The amazing support and encouragement of my family has made me what I am" is how Aisling describes herself. Aisling regularly returns to Ireland to visit and is looking forward to this trip as Perth Rose!
