NORTH WEST ENGLAND - CIARA TONER
Ciara is 22, lives in Armagh City, though born in New South Wales, and the eldest of four girls.
Soon to graduate in Business & Marketing, Ciara plans a postgraduate course in Marketing & Entrepreneurship; however a career in broadcasting might supplant a career in business! When asked her hobbies she replied “Árd Mhacha Abú” and waxed eloquently on her interest in the Armagh GAA football team, horse riding and walking.
Ciara lists outdoor concerts – U2 in Croke Park – fleadhanna, Irish traditional music and travelling among things she likes to do. Dislikes include bad manners and untrustworthy people, and she doesn’t like cats or getting her photograph taken. Asked to describe herself Ciara responded “genuine, hardworking and, I think, thoughtful. I am sociable, independent and I enjoy whatever life throws at me”.
Ciara thinks the world of her adopted city, “The ecclesiastical capital of Ireland! I have a large family circle and wonderful friends in a city of culture with so much to do.” Though she has travelled extensively around Ireland since the family returned here 15 years ago, this is Ciara’s first visit to Kerry.
