NEW ZEALAND - EMMA COFFEY

Emma is 24 and works as a Cash & Banking specialist with Mobil Oil New Zealand, “a great company to work for and I’m part of a great team.” Longer term Emma may return to investment banking.

The youngest of 8 children, Emma’s Dad John is from Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork and her Mom Ann has roots in Killarney, Co. Kerry. Emma is expecting to meet many cousins from Cork, Clare and Kerry on this visit to Ireland and to enjoying their support in Tralee.

Emma is an accomplished Irish Dancer – in the Top Five in New Zealand – and she has danced professionally here in Ireland. Kick boxing, indoor netball, touch rugby, reading and theatre are important outlets for Emma. A student of the violin from the age of 7 Emma describes music as “a huge part of my life”. Among the likes listed by the New Zealand Rose are spending time with family & friends, travelling, being fit … and chocolate! Dislikes include lack of punctuality, losing an umbrella, missing the train and baked beans. Emma’s favourite bands include U2, The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac.

She describes herself as “very positive, outgoing and enthusiastic. I am proud to be confident, it gives me the ability to take on new adventures and challenges.”
