DUBAI - MARIA CURTIN
Maria is 24 and a cabin crew member with Emirates Airlines. A native of Meelin, Newmarket, Co. Cork, Maria had previously spent 2 years working with another airline before succumbing to the lure of the bright lights and “fabulous lifestyle” of Dubai.
An interest in travelling is helped by the job and Maria’s ambition is to advance to the level of Purser with Emirates Airlines. Hobbies for this high flying Rose include running, playing with Dubai Celts Ladies’ football team and generally keeping fit.
Soaking up the sunshine poolside with a good book is the preferred chill out method. Asked to list likes & dislikes the Dubai Rose listed keeping active, papaya and her mother Evelyn’s brown bread as among her likes while porridge, frogs and rubbing sun cream on other people are no-nos!
Maria is looking forward to returning to Tralee: she studied at the Institute of Technology Tralee and managed a bar in the town. Maria describes herself as “considerate, I don’t like to see people being left out of things. I’m independent, with an open mind, and I’m not afraid to try new experiences. My outlook is positive and I try to make the best of every situation”.
