Life after Death

1 x 30'

'Life after Death' is the story of how two friends dealt with, and learnt from, the death of their children and their struggle to find meaning in a life dominated by loss.

Jane McKenna and her husband Brendan knew that their second child Laura would have a tough battle ahead of her when she was born with a hole in her heart. They could not have imagined what lay ahead of them just four and a half years later, when on the day that Laura lost her struggle for life after a major operation, their other daughter Lynn was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of 13.

At the same time, the daughter of Jane's best friend Dolores, was also suffering from leukaemia. Lorraine had been like an older sister to Lynn and she died just 10 weeks after Laura's death and Lynn's diagnosis. Two years later Lynn died at home at the age of 15 in April 2001.

Jane is now planning to build the first children's hospice in the country.
