Hitler's Irish Movies

1 x 52'

Using Goebbels' special blend of melodrama and propaganda, the Nazis commissioned a number of anti-English, "pro-Irish" feature films. This film asks what purpose they hoped to serve and how the plan backfired in the occupied territories. Experts in Germany, Ireland, and Luxembourg, schoolboy extras from the original films, and a rich array of archive footage contribute to create a sometimes disturbing, sometimes humorous look at how propaganda works (or doesn't.)
