Her Name was Lola

1 x 52'

She was considered the first tabloid newspaper celebrity and the Madonna of her day. Her lovers included Franz Liszt, Alexander Dumas and most famously King Ludwig 1 of Bavaria. She was arrested for slapping, whipping and kicking people whenever the mood arose. She was thrown out of several European countries for instigating political discord. Born at the same time as Queen Victoria and within a few years of Jane Austen's death, she was a woman who celebrated the idea of independence through actions that would outrage people around the world. An actress, writer, lecturer, and most famously a Spanish dancer, she was known as one of the most extraordinary women of her time. Her name was Lola Montez.
