Journalist, Jim Fahy returns to Haiti the shattered country a year after the devastating earthquake which killed over a quarter of a million people and left another million homeless. The catastrophic earthquake which struck on January 12th 2010 leveled much of its capital city, Port au Prince. in just 36 seconds.
In 2008, two years before the earthquake, Jim documented the inspiring work of Dr Louise Ivers, from Dublin; Gena Heraty, from Mayo and Fr Rick Frechette, from Connecticut in the USA - all three found themselves caught up in the terror of the January 2010 earthquake and, as Port au Prince collapsed and crumbled around them, they fought to save many lives.
Only a tiny trickle of the promised billions from around the world ever materialised. And, twelve months on, the country is now facing a new crisis as a deadly cholera epidemic spreads through the country; the first cholera outbreak Haiti has ever experienced.
