The 8th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards

The 8th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards, one of the most prestigious nights in the Irish entertainment and cultural calendar, will take place at Dublin's Convention Centre on Saturday 12th February 2011. The gala Awards ceremony will be broadcast LIVE at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
Hosted by Simon Delaney, the IFTAs showcase the highest standard of Irish talent seen on screen in the past twelve months and, each year, this memorable event attracts some of Ireland's finest talents both in front of and behind the camera.
IFTA 2011 will see Irish producer Morgan O'Sullivan will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Industry Award honouring his immeasurable influence on the Irish film and television industry with credits such as Braveheart, King Arthur, The Tudors and Camelot.
Attending the awards will be nominees Brendan Gleeson, Pierce Brosnan, Saoirse Ronan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Colm Meaney, Stephen Rea, Amy Huberman and Charlene McKenna along with special guests 'Sex and the City' star Kim Cattrall, 'The Tudors' stars Joely Richardson, Joss Stone and Natalie Dormer, 'The Wire' and 'Love/Hate' star Aiden Gillen, 'Harry Potter' star Evanna Lynch to name but a few.
RTÉ Television has received 40 nominations across Drama, Current Affairs, Factual, Young Peoples, Sport and Entertainment. RTÉ's programmes Love/Hate, RAW, Reeling In The Years, Single Handed, Prime Time Investigates, Fair City, World Cup and Operation Transformation will feature in the tight race to bring home IFTA gold.
