Mary Kennedy presents a spectacular Christmas celebration from Dublin Castle with Daniel O'Donnell, Mary Byrne, The Coronas, Dervish, Dublin Gospel Choir, All Ireland Talent Show winner, Daniel Furlong, People of the Year winner Joan Freeman and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, conducted by David Brophy.


Mary Byrne sings Silent Night and chats to Mary Kennedy the story of going to Bethlehem, during her year in a kibbutz in her early 20s, and ending up singing Silent Night with pilgrims from all over the world, each in their own language. She also sings White Christmas. Both with the RTÉ CO and Dublin Gospel Choir.


Dervish play The Holly Bears A Berry and O, Holy Night The Coronas did a new arrangement of the Pretenders' Christmas classic, 2000 Miles, with the RTÉ CO.

Viewers are invited by Dublin Gospel Choir to visit their church, and sing a big Gospel number: Jesus, Oh, what a Wonderful Child!

Daniel Furlong sings a stunning version of the first verse of Once In Royal David's City, reprising the solo he did for the show two years ago, in Wexford Opera House, before anyone had heard of him on the All Ireland Talent Show!

The Dublin Fire Brigade Pipe Band who are celebrating their 150th anniversary in 2012 play The Little Drummer Boy, in the courtyard outside.

Before Daniel serenades the audience is interviewed by Mary Kennedy.

Joan Freeman, from Pieta House, chat to Mary Kennedy about the work they do and how the foundation offers support to people facing depression and suicidal thoughts.
