I am really looking forward to the cold nights of January and some good music on RTÉ Two. I know last season was repeated a few months ago, but will RTÉ PLEASE show last season over Christmas as usual - but not as late as 3.45am. Hopefully some bright spark in RTÉ will come up with the idea of putting all the seasons on a DVD box set. That's my idea, by the way.

Why isn't Emiliana Torrini's 'Birds' still on the site? Get it back up there.
Editor: We can't, we only had on demand rights for a set period of time.
10/08/2009 Ken, Laois
Even as a repeat, this is the best programme on TV. Billy Bragg was excellent and reminded me of how entertaining and captivating someone can be just singing with nothing more than great lyrics and a guitar.
20/04/2009 Natasha McAvinney, Dubai
Love 'Other Voices' and always try to squeeze in multiple viewings when I get home to visit. Any DVD plans so I can satisfy my cravings when I'm not in Ireland and when the series is over?
22/02/2009 Pauline, Kilkenny
I have been a fan for many years and encourage my teenage children to watch this wonderful array of musical talent and variety. It's an education for them to learn about alternative musical styles to the music channels on TV. I would like to know if there are any more CDs out now. I have 1, 2 & 3 and am anxious to get any other recordings along with a ticket for a show which would be a real dream come true. Many thanks. Keep it up.
Editor: Hi Pauline, there are only the three CDs you have available. See note about tickets below.
21/02/2009 Susan, Sligo
Your man Colm Mac Con Iomaire's song was just beautiful!
21/02/2009 Colin, Dublin
Great final show on Wednesday. Had hoped to see some of the cutting room floor stuff for the selected artists.
19/02/2009 Louise, Dublin
First time tuned in, what can I say: what an array of amazing talent from Ireland, Britain and Iceland. Emilíana Torrini was so hypnotic. She was amazing and where do I start about Mick Flannery? How brilliant is he? Quality programming from RTÉ. I'm proud to be Irish. PS: love John Kelly and Annie Mac.
17/02/2009 Urelandy, Navan
Hi there, love the show, it gets better every year! Can I just make an enquiry and ask how do the producers select the artists for the show? Do the artists submit the work themselves to the producers? If so, would it be possible for any musician in Ireland to send in a demo and see what the producers think?
Editor: Please submit your email address and we will pass your query on to the producers.
17/02/2009 Kathy, Dublin
Love the show, too many great performances to even start. When's Róisín Murphy gonna rock the joint?
16/02/2009 Luke Murray, Here and There
Alright guys, love the show. Do make sure Mick Flannery gets on the last one for me! Just wondering: how does one go about getting tickets?
Editor: See note about tickets below.

Sweet Clyde, sorry, carbuncle? Kíla? Kíla are one of the few bands actually taking Celt music forward.
13/02/2009 Shane, Kerry
Gráinne Duffy, absolutely amazing! We all cannot stop listening to her! Truly beautiful!
13/02/2009 Gearóid, Valencia, Spain
Sweet Clyde, what are you on? Kíla are IMMENSE. Novelty? Perhaps they are if you mean it's novel that a band can take the celt sound and make it universally relevant and not just a rehash of diddley-aye clichés.
13/02/2009 No Name, Kerry
Hey! Why can't I watch Elbow's show from this year? I'm able to watch everyone else's show?
Editor: We only had the rights to stream Elbow's performance for four weeks.
13/02/2009 Ciara, Dingle
Hey, for Aidan in Dublin: Mick sang 'Wish You Well' as his first song and then 'Christmas Past' with Lisa Hannigan!
13/02/2009 Aidan, Dublin
Great set on the 11th. What song did Mick Flannery play?
Editor: Hi Aidan, you can watch his performance back on the site. Have you got RealPlayer?
12/02/2009 Iain, Donegal
Sweet Clyde? Not so sweet. Kíla are a fantastic group of musicians. I did see the show; I was in the audience. Maybe the band are better in a concert scenario, not TV. I didn't think their set was up to their normal performances, but there is no need to be so insulting! Welcome back, Christy Moore!
10/02/2009 Swiss Tony, Daingean
What a show! What a night! What a series! And the goddess that is Imelda May to come. From the Liberties - where no one goes grey! And Billy Bragg... legend. Great.
09/02/2009 Sweet Clyde, Dublin
What is the deal with Kíla? Shocking performance from at best a novelty band. A few bollards in front of the church wouldn't have gone amiss there! A sorry carbuncle on an otherwise excellent show. Is Annie Mac single?
09/02/2009 Wicked Chicken, The Real Capital
Excellent series this year, full of genuinity! Billy Bragg and Richard Hawley in the same show was sublime. I'm particularly looking forward to Imelda May next week.
08/02/2009 Amy, Dublin
Great show this week. I was in the audience! Loving Gráinne Duffy and her new single 'Rather Go Blind'! I think she's the biz altogether! The show goes from strength to strength.
06/02/2009 Liam, Manchester
I had great luck, and managed to get a ticket to this year's show. The guy Steve was great and Liam Finn... I have since watched it online. This really is a wonderful show. Fantastic selection of musicians - not all my cup of tea, but that's music. John Kelly is great with the London DJ Annie Mac. Nice team! Thank you. I will be heading there again this year! Tickets please!
06/02/2009 Jimmy, Baltimore
I have really enjoyed the series so far - the first time I have had the opportunity to see Elbow and Richard Hawley on stage together. Annie Mac is great. Easy on the eye too!
05/02/2009 Nulty, Dublin
Good work on the show. Excellent you can watch it here if you missed it. And the Archives are great too. Michael J is right: it gets better every year. Emilíana Torrini is awesome. Keep it up!
05/02/2009 Richard, Dublin
Richard Hawley was fantastic (especially with the excellent Elbow) last night. Well done for giving us such a great music show!
04/02/2009 Lucy, Dublin
First time I watched 'Other Voices' and tonight Gráinne Duffy was amazing. Brilliant performance of 'I'd Rather Go Blind'! I'm also now definitely a new fan of Billy Bragg!
04/02/2009 Michael J, Meath
Show gets better and better. How does one get tickets?
Editor: Hi Michael, the shows are recorded in December and a limited amount go on sale. News will be on the website in the weeks beforehand.
04/02/2009 Thomas, Cork
RTÉ, I was in the audience for the Richard Hawley show. Please, please, please show the song he did with Guy from Elbow! Everyone was talking about it! They should put it on their own websites - amazing. I was proud to be Irish that night, sitting in a Dingle church watching these recordings. It's great for the town, too. Great buzz! When are the tickets on sale for this year?
Editor: Hi Thomas, news will be on the website in the weeks before the shows are recorded.
03/02/2009 Dorris, Sligo
Hi. I have tried on many occasions to view the 'Other Voices' show online but it won't allow me - a white box just comes up with an 'x' on it! This really annoys me. I thought it was my computer at first but have now tried on different computers and laptops and the same happens. So, I am now beginning to think that it's on 'Other Voices'/RTÉ's behalf that I cannot view this. Can this matter be looked into further, as I would love to view the show online. Many thanks.
Editor's Note: Hi Dorris, the issue is with the PCs you are trying to look at the show on. We are watching the shows perfectly online here and we have received no other complaints from members of the public about being unable to watch the shows - we would receive many emails if the fault was ours. You should check if the computers you are using have the application Flash installed on them. You need that to watch the show.
30/01/2009 Eimear, Waterford
'Other Voices' is such a breath of fresh air! Thank you so much for having Halves on the show. It was my first time hearing them and now I can't wait to buy their album. Their performance was so haunting yet powerful - you could not have picked a better location either!
29/01/2009 Frank and Emma, Sligo
Dear RTÉ, thank you for providing a decent music programme! I had never heard of Chequerboard or Halves. Where do you find them? Amazing. Really surprised, to be honest. We are virgins to the show as we are living abroad. The Icelandic girl and Duke Special... really a fantastic mix of music. GOOD music. Not the usual video shows!
29/01/2009 Ciara, Antrim
God, Lisa Hannigan was great. She is blessed with this weird magnetism that I could only sell my soul to the devil for.
28/01/2009 Donal, Cork
Mick Flannery? Just watched the show tonight. I was expecting to hear him. He's listed as tonight?
Editor's Note: Hi Donal, sorry, there was a mix-up with the listings. Mick Flannery's set will be on in episode 5.
28/01/2009 Anna, Mayo
Greg, are you for real? Someone fresh to present 'Other Voices'? "Maybe Jack L?" I think the addition of Annie Mac was a genius decision on behalf of RTÉ; she is so cool. But Jack L? Good God. Looking forward to Duke Special tonight.
26/01/2009 Greg, Dublin
Looking forward to next year's event. But hopefully John Kelly will not be presenting. I think you need someone fresh. Maybe Jack L.
22/01/2009 John, Galway
James Morrison has gone up in my estimation after watching Wednesday night's show - he can really perform. RSAG looks like a really interesting artist; I hope he keeps it up for a while. Are there going to be any webchats this year?
Editor: Hi John, we don't have any webchats planned.
22/01/2009 Natasha, Foxrock
Last night's show with Lisa Hannigan and the guy from the Frames, Colm, was so impressive. The talent that some Irish musicians have... it so great to have this show on RTÉ. There is nothing else on here to see this kind of music. I first saw Lisa on the show last year. Congratulations RTÉ.
20/01/2009 Steve, Dublin
Elbow deserve all the kudos! What a band. Great show!
19/01/2009 Joe, Cork
Really annoyed I missed last week's show. I was there and am sure I heard that it would be on TV in late January - what's with showing it on 14 January? Looks like I will have to wait until some ridiculous hour in the morning next Christmas to see the repeat. Just as well I saw the live shows.
16/01/2009 Simon, Dundrum
I am a big fan of the show, particularly in recent years - less singer-songwriter stuff. I see RTÉ has its finger on the pulse: the majority of the emerging acts are all nominated by the industry Choice Awards. Nice One. PS: Where can we get tickets?
Editor: Hi Keith, the shows are recorded in December and a limited amount go on sale. News will be on the website in the weeks beforehand.
16/01/2009 Keith, Dublin
I loved the first show, Elbow and Steve Reynolds were amazing! Can someone tell me what song is used for the theme tune please?
15/01/2009 Paula, Leim an Bhradáin
What a truly magnificent show, the highlight being 'The Fix' with Hawley and Elbow. And even if Guy Garvey was smothering with a cold and couldn't quite hit the high notes, nothing and no-one comes close for the sheer breathtakingly beautiful lyrics. The venue is superb. How hard is it to get tickets and when is the next recording? Good on ye!
15/012009 Donal, Tullamore
Each year I hear new music on RTÉ's 'Other Voices'. Fantastic to see Conor from the Immediate back with his own material. Liam Finn - great song, and drummer! Quality music. Credit where it's due.
15/01/2009 Darragh, Dublin
Liam Finn was amazing on the show last night, really liked everything they played. The live set up looked really cool. Look forward to listening to more of his stuff. 'Other Voices' is back woohoo!
15/01/2009 Ray, Kerry
Fair play 'OV' crew, great first show - going to be a great series. King and his crew always do the county proud.
15/01/2009 Sally, Longford
Thank you RTÉ for another season of 'Other Voices'. I look forward to it each year. I can never get tickets for it, though! Liam Finn was fantastic, and Elbow and Richard together was the jewel in the crown. Congratulations. Great shots of Kerry too!
15/01/2009 Fergal, The Batter
Well, well, well... Welcome back - and what a great start. How are you going to follow that up next week? Elbow are kings! And the song with Richard Hawley... wow. Richie Egan is a living Irish legend. What I love about 'Other Voices' is finding someone like Liam Finn that I've been meaning to check out for ages. He's savage! Off to get the album now. Welcome, Annie Mac - never seen her work before. So slick, well done all. Good to have you back. Now how about an earlier time slot? Please.
