Already hugely admired in mainland Europe and the recipient of major music awards, Perry Blake's last album, 'California', won him a legion of new fans worldwide, and helped cement his reputation in his native Ireland. The single 'Ordinary Day' (also recorded as a duet in French/Engish), received extensive airplay, and was a favourite with many of Ireland's leading radio presenters.
Blake followed 'California' last year with 'Songs for Someone'. A darker and more ballad-driven album than its predecessor, it was again met with critical acclaim and the tracks ' When I'm Over You', 'The Fox in Winter' and 'Travelling' gave him three classic songs - to add to the others.
Blake wrote two of the songs for and contributed vocals to 'Tant Les Belles Choses', the award-winning new album by legendary French chanteuse Francoise Hardy. It has become her biggest success yet, and 2005 began with the Sligo-born singer receiving a gold disc for his contribution to the album.
