Julie Feeney

Winner of the inaugural Choice Music Prize, Galway singer-songwriter Julie Feeney released her debut album, '13 Songs', last year to much acclaim, both at home and abroad. The New York Times called it "a charming, urbane, dreamy record" and the RTÉ Guide was unhesitating about declaring that the album was "one of the most refreshing Irish debuts in recent years".

Feeney graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 2002 with a Masters in Music and Media Technologies and since then she has been working as a professional choral singer and composer. She sings with The National Chamber Choir and has also performed with the BBC Singers. Through her work with Anúna, 'Riverdance' and 'Lord of the Dance', Feeney has performed and recorded all over the world.

Her own concert compositions have been performed in Ireland, the UK and America.  Feeney worked with choreographer Fearghus Ó Conchúir and theatre director Jason Byrne as the composer and singer of contemporary dance performance 'Cosán Dearg' which ran at Project Theatre, Dublin in July.
