Once upon a time there was a band called Juniper. They signed to a major label, had two Irish chart hits in 1998 with 'Weatherman' and 'The World is Dead' and then everything changed and Juniper started a new chapter by changing their name - to Bell X1 - their lineup and their sound.
With the release of their second album 'Music in Mouth' in 2003, Bell X1 came into their own. Paul Noonan (vocals, guitar), Brian Crosby (guitar, keyboards), David Geraghty (guitar, keyboards, vocals) and Dominic Phillips (bass) hit the road, playing with Tom McRae, Keane, Starsailor, Aqualung and Snow Patrol across the UK and continental Europe. Four Top 40 singles were released from 'Music in Mouth' and the album itself eventually went double platinum.
A year later, the band gathered in a house in Wexford to write their third album. In early 2005 Bell X1 spent time building on their reputation, all the time consolidating and expanding their fan-base at home and abroad. Their new album, 'Flock', was released in Ireland on 14 October and went straight into the Irish charts at Number One. But that's not all. Bell X1 have also played a major tour of Ireland; sold out a mini-tour of the US; recorded a live session for Nic Harcourt's highly rated radio show on KCRW in Los Angeles and provided the music for the most watched scene of the last series of 'The OC'. What they're going to get up to in 2006 is anyone's guess.
