If you were very taken with the Chanel ski bunny look, you're planning a ski holiday or you just want to get into some stylish but cosy winter gear then our fashion shoot is for you.

The latest fabrics are so high tech that the puffa is a thing of the past and you are guaranteed a lean silhouette as you speed down the slopes or sip your apres ski drinks. Stick to natural fabrics like leather, suede and sheepskin that are functional and flattering.

The most modern ski jackets in the latest fabrics look so sharp that you won't want to keep them for your holiday - they're perfect for the great outdoors and will guard against all the elements. Soft fur jackets in natural shades of brown and cream look great worn with trousers and low slung leather or suede belts. Longline sheepskin jackets are trendy but perfect against winter chills worn with cosy cashmere sweaters or polos. Leather trousers are not only stylish and figure hugging but also provide protection against the elements. For a really cosy feel go for suede or fur fabric trousers that look great worn with a short sheepskin waistcoat or jacket.

Cashmere and wool will add warmth without bulk and fit snugly under a jacket - lots of layers will keep you nice and cosy and you can always peel off if things really start hotting up!

Use some ski accessories to compliment your outdoor look even if you don't intend to hit the slopes. You'll look just like a Bond girl in a pair of wraparound glasses and a fur headband. For a really fun look choose a brightly coloured ski hat in fur or fleece complete with pom poms and ear flaps! Stick to soft pastel shades - cashmere and wool scarves will look pretty in pink, lilac and blue. Trousers in leather and suede come in all shades from cream to red and don't be afraid to add a touch of glamour with some sparkly or fluffy detail in your top.

For all your vigorous outdoor activity try a pair of practical ski boots in weatherproof fabrics or flats in suede or leather that are comfortable for walking - if you can't live without your heels you can opt for a wedge style boot or shoe that's still comfy but will give you an extra few inches!
The idea is to look as though you've just come off the piste even if you're only heading for a walk in the Wicklow hills and your new outdoor gear will ensure that no matter how cold the weather gets you'll always look hot!
