The Law of Deadlines:
When you put a deadline on something it sharpens your focus. This was one of the reasons why Joe found the stopwatch as being so useful to help him with his administrative work.
The Law of Identity:
This suggests that you become what you do. Often we describe ourselves by what it is that we do. Those who smoke call themselves smokers for example. With Joe, I needed him to start seeing himself as the Dad he was again rather than simply the provider. To do this, he started to create an environment which was set up with space for the girls. His home became a second home for them.
