Programme 1
Meet Conor Holmes, married with four children, and a self confessed workaholic. He is the first to admit that he has a work/ life balance problem, with work taking up the majority of his time. Conor has great difficulty in drawing a line under his day's work, and his laptop has become a regular accessory in his home life.
Three years ago Conor set up an educational book publishing company, "Outside the Box", with his wife Kate. The aim at the time was to cut down Conor's work hours. But to say things haven't gone to plan would be an understatement.
As well as working a seventy to eighty hour week, Conor also trains the under 16 football team and has just become Handicap Secretary of the golf club. Wife Kate is starting to worry about the repercussions his non stop work ethic might have on his health.
But Conor is looking for a change; his concern is the lack of time he is spending with his children, especially with Ben, his youngest son. He desperately does not want his children's memories of him to be that of him working all the time, while they were growing up.
To make this change Conor needs some help to prioritize. Psychologist and Time Management expert, Owen Fitzpatrick is called in to help address his work/ life imbalance, and to change his whole work ethic by reminding Conor of what needs to come first in his life.
But is separating Conor from his work and much loved laptop going to be, mission impossible?
