Chumki un Nesa found her way to Ireland from Bangladesh in a most unusual way - via an arranged marriage. Bob Kelly travels from Killarney, Co Kerry to rural Bangladesh to find out what Chumki left behind in favor of a life in the Kingdom.

Not all arranged marriages are the same as Bob quickly finds out. This blushing bride made some unusual demands of her husband to be - he must bring her back to Ireland with him. The suitor in question is her loving husband Din. Din had been working in Killarney for some time before returning briefly to Bangladesh to find a wife. Believe it or not Killarney is quite the little Bangladesh, boasting over 400 Bangladeshi's. The couple now have a beautiful baby girl, Mehek.

Chumki is a university graduate from a very well educated family, in fact Bob quickly finds he is entering into a family of impressive ladies. Chumki's sisters occupy some high positions in the locality, with a school head mistress, local politician, university lecturer all under the guidance of the formidable matriarch, Bob is going to be hen pecked...

Whilst much of what we hear from Bangladesh is natural disasters and poverty but as always there is so much more to find in this country. From old London buses and the busiest waterways imaginable in Dhaka to the national sport that requires holding your breath whilst continually saying "cupardy, cupardy, cupardy..." Bob finds this country a real eye opener.
