About the Show
No Place Like Home is back on your screens in January 2008 with a brand new 10 part series. The format is the same as previous series, but the people and places are different. Walk down any street in any Irish town and you will meet the new Irish - the Kazakhstan business woman, the Tanzanian acrobat, the Tunisian waiter. The series starts its search for the exotic in these new Irish faces, because sometimes you have to wander far afield to learn the true meaning of home.
Bob Kelly, the presenter, wanders the high roads and by roads of Ireland meeting our new immigrants and asking, "Why did you come to Ireland and what have you left behind?" He goes back home to meet up with old friends and family.
Equipped with a portable DV camera, a new address book and an insatiable curiosity, Bob visits, among others, a sleepy village in Tunisia, a remote post-industrial city in Central Europe and a colourful and hynotic Cuba.
