Music Promoter

Have you got what it takes to host the most popular sell-out gig in the city?

Well three lucky music lovers certainly think they have, as try to make their daydreams a reality. They’re competing to a land a six-month contract with top music promoters Mark Murphy and Loughlin McSweeney who run Choice Cuts. The company specialises in promoting Hip Hop, soul, funk and reggae music. They only promote music that they are fans of and have worked with Bud Rising, Oxygen and Electric Picnic as well as some of the top venues around Dublin.

During week one the candidates have to promote an existing club night, DIG, at the venue TRIPOD, which is comprised of three rooms that each have their own sound. The wannabe promoters must sell tickets, design visuals and manage the running of one of the rooms on the night. Competition heats up as they struggle to fill their assigned room and sell out the venue. Just how far will they go to make their club night a success?

Week two and competition is even more fierce, as the odds go 50:50 with only two candidates still in the running for that dream job. They have a lot to play for, as Mark and Loughlin test their promoter skills to the limit. The candidates have to come up with an idea for a new Saturday night club night in Dublin. They will have to decide on a budget, venue, act, visuals and of course marketing. This is the real life of a music promoter; you’re only as good as how many tickets you can sell and the acts you can book. Surviving in this tough industry depends on the punters coming to the club,

Can the candidates dance to this commercial beat?
