Meet The Neighbours
Friday 22nd May, 7.30pm
Alan McLoughlin has been a prawn fisherman since he was a boy, working 12 hour shifts on the Irish Sea. The son of a Czech woman and a Balbriggan man who served in the British Army, he's frustrated by the decline of the fishing industry.
Oz Raza has been living in Ireland for the past 15 years and proudly bears a hybrid accent that is halfway between Lusk and Lahore. The remainder of his family has now moved back to Pakistan but he stayed and married Marie from Coolock. Together they have a young daughter called Inayah. A keen cricketer and a business graduate, he has big plans of launching a new sports merchandising enterprise - starting with a shop in the town.
Louie Fortune is from South Africa and works shifts as a night porter at a north Dublin nursing home. By day, he sings his heart out and is about to launch his debut album. His experience of life in South Africa gives him a unique perspective on Ireland's multicultural challenges.
