Late Late Show Player

Pat Kenny presents the popular talk show featuring high-profile guests and the very best in all-round entertainment

CECELIA AHERN

Cecelia Ahern has sold millions of copies of her 6 bestselling novels. Her debut novel, written when she was only 21, was turned into a feature-length movie. She is the writer and co-producer of a new ABC sitcom which debuted last year as the no. 1 new comedy in the U.S.; and now we hear she has written her first play; all of this and she is still only 27! She joined Pat to talk about her success, ideas and family life.

BUGLE BABES

During war time one of the only escapes was through music and one of the main groups of that time was The Andrews Sisters. The music has enjoyed such enduring popularity that a group of Irish girls have formed a group to perform the songs for todays audiences. They're called The Bugle Babes and they dropped in to sing "Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree".

ALAN SHORTT & PAKIE O'CALLAGHAN

For the last Late Late show before the highly anticipated Budget 2008 we invited two stalwarts from Bull Island to offer some light relief from the doom & gloom. Impersonators Alan Shortt and Pakie O'Callaghan appeared as An Taoiseach Brian Cowen and EU commissioner Charlie McCreevy. The audience joined in for a rendition of "Tull-amore" sung to the air of Dean Martin's classic That's Amore at the end of the sketch.

FRANK McDONALD & KATHY SHERIDAN

The saying goes 'when you owe the bank €10,000 you are in trouble - but if you owe the bank €10 million they're in trouble! As we know the chickens have been coming home to roost for the banks. But who are the movers and shakers who persuaded our eminent financial institutions to part with literally billions? Frank McDonald and Kathy Sheridan joined Pat to tell all about Ireland's wealthiest property developers; from how much they made to how much they stand to lose.

SHEILA HANCOCK

A nation mourned after the death of the much-loved Inspector Morse actor John Thaw but no-one more so than his wife Sheila. At the age of 73, depressed, and alone for the first time in her life, she was in desperate need to fill the aching void he had left behind. Not the type to content herself with domesticity she embarked on a series of journeys, which included facing down budget airline staff and getting arrested in Thailand. Her new book, Just Me, tells her tale on how she adapted to live without John.

GARY KAVANAGH & HAIR MODELS

It's been almost half a century since hairdressers Peter Mark first opened a salon on Grafton Street, that was in 1961. We've come a long way since those days of set perms, dry cuts and blue rinses. We took a look back at some of the key hairstyles and looks from the last 5 decades. Pat was joined by Peter Mark's Creative Director hairdresser to the stars, Gary Kavanagh..

PETER AND MARK KEAVENEY

A lot of you may wonder who is behind the Irish hairdressing empire that is Peter Mark. Well they are simply brothers Peter and Mark Keaveney. In spite of the fact that they have been in business since 1961, this is the first time they have ever done a live interview together.

MARY COUGHLAN

A true survivor of the music business Mary Coughlan has released 13 albums over the past 25 years and her latest is being heralded as her best. It's called "The House of Ill Repute" and from that she performs the current single "Bad". Full details of Mary's tour can be found on www.marycoughlanmusic.com

GERRY KELLY

Gerry Kelly is one of Ireland's most popular television presenters having fronted the Kelly Show on UTV for seventeen years until the plug was pulled on it in August, 2005. He spoke on The Late Late Show about his shock at this decision and he told Pat about his father's alcohol problem, about the highs and lows of his TV career plus his fallout with Daniel O'Donnell's mother and his many interviews and friendship with George Best. Gerry's book is called 'Kelly: A Memoir'.
