Live from the New Opera House in Wexford, Pat Kenny returns with a new series of the popular talk show featuring high-profile guests and the very best in all-round entertainment
Pat Kenny welcomes you to a very special Late Late Show.
The big hit of the summer "Galway Girl" from Sharon Shannon and her big band featuring guest vocalist Jerry Fish, accompanied by the RTE Concert Orchestra led by Mia Cooper and conducted by Gearoid Grant and the Wexford anthem "Dancing at the Crossroads" featuring Seanie Flood and a few of Wexford's GAA stars on backing vocals.
Sharon Shannon and the Band start an Irish tour on the 27th of December in Castlebar and will be visiting every part of the country including Wexford on New Years day.
Before the summer they were not household names but after a two-week trip to Beijing they have written themselves into Irish sporting history. The Olympic Boxing Medal winners gave viewers a glimpse of life in the Olympic village, and talked about their hopes and aspirations after their Olympic success. Irish Boxing Coach Billy Walsh talked about the achievements and what it has meant for Irish boxing hopes in London 2012.
An Taoiseach Brian Cowen joined Pat and the boxers on set before sitting down for his first interview since becoming Taoiseach. For 10 minutes he told people what to expect from the Government in the coming weeks and months. He also spoke about the resilience of the Irish people before telling us a good a bit about himself.
The Welsh operatic singer has become a regular visitor to Ireland and is familiar to thousands of rugby fans with her rendition of the Welsh national anthem in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Katherine Jenkins performs her own unique version of "I Who Have Nothing" for the 750-strong audience in the Wexford Opera House.
At 31, the Dublin-born actor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers has already been in more movies than some actors achieve in a lifetime. He has worked with Woody Allen (of whom he does great impressions), Oliver Stone and Neil Jordan. He talks to Pat about fame, how he had to physically change his size to take on some of the more challenging mature roles and how, if given the right role and circumstance, he might be persuaded to take to the stage. Jonathan is currently starring in the TV series "The Tudors" as King Henry VIII.
Almost fifteen years after it first wowed audiences as the interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest its appeal is enduring and it continues to draw the crowds right across the globe. It's a phenomenon that is distinctly and proudly Irish. The performance at the New Operas House in Wexford features principal dancers, Alan Scariff and Aisling Ryan along with vocalist, Niamh McCormack.
Riverdance is currently running in the Theatre Royal in Castlebar and then it moves to the INEC in Killarney from 12 September 2008.
Back in 2003 The Late Late introduced a young Irish magician looking for a break. Since then he has developed his own unique brand of magic and his new show is a lavish production mixing grand illusion, horror, special effects and black comedy.
Magick Macabre opens in the Olympia Theatre on 24 October 2008.
"The Three Waiters" are professional under cover opera singers who have performed at gala events across the globe. They continue to surprise and capture people's imagination and hearts with their blend of professional singing and on-stage antics. You can see more of them at www.thethreewaiters.com
Celebrated Irish writer Colm Toibin who is from Enniscorthy in Wexford tells us how the people of Wexford and their passion of Opera has shaped their community and how 'The New Opera House is to music what Croke Park is to GAA.'
Performance of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
This very unique performance was put together specially for this show. The chosen song crosses so many genres that it defies categorization. Performing Bohemian Rhapsody are Michael Londra, Celine Byrne and the choirs of Wexford.
Soprano, Celine Byrne recently won the Maria Callas International Grand Prix and is about to perform with Jose Carreras. from Wexford, tenor Mchael Londra whose first stage appearances were in the (old) Opera House and now tours the world.
