The Late Late Show

Mike Murphy

If you saw Charlie Bird on this year's Telethon, disguised as a demented autograph collector chasing his RTÉ colleagues, you'll know that he was following in a long tradition in RTÉ which goes back almost thirty years. We met the original and the best as he launched a DVD of vintage comedy "gets". Mike Murphy looked back at his time on what is now regarded as one of the classics of modern Irish comedy, "The Live Mike".

David Gray

David Gray has the honour of being the artist behind the biggest-selling album of all time in Ireland, 'White Ladder'. The album went on to be the catalyst for a giant international career - and then he went quiet. But he's back with a greatest hits album and new tour. David Gray came into the show to debut his brand new single 'You're The World To Me'.

Bill Roache

Bill Roache is a man that everybody thinks they know. For almost 50 years, he has graced our television screens every week as Ken Barlow, the longest-serving cast member on Coronation Street. However there's far more to the man than the character and, in his autobiography, he reflects on an extraordinary life: from his time as an army officer in Persia to the tragedy of losing a daughter and the ups and downs of becoming one of the most recognisable faces on these islands. He came into the Late Late Show to reflect on a life less ordinary..

Westlife

When you consider that the lifespan of a boy band is often very short, it's great to know that Westlife are still enjoying enormous success throughout the world, years on from their debut single nine years ago. To celebrate, they came in to the show to perform a song written by Late late Show favourite Michael Bublé: "Home". And for all you Westlife fans out there, the boys will be back with us for a special Christmas Late Late Show Westlife special on December 28th.

Dana

She was just a schoolgirl in the late 60s when she started out on what would become a hugely successful career in music. Since then, she has tried her hand at everything from presenting her own Christian show in America to running for the position of Uachtarán na hÉireann - and even went on to become an M.E.P. On the eve of her musical comeback, Dana spoke to Pat about her life in music, politics and religion. She then performed a song from her new album, the Johnny Cash classic, "A Thing Called Love" .

Halifax Photo Competition

A few weeks ago, our friends at Halifax enlisted our help with their 2008 calendar. They wanted the photos for the calendar to be supplied by Late Late Show viewers. And what a response we got - literally thousands of photographs of children and pets, or special places or particular moments which gave you, the Late Late Show viewers, that little bit extra. Thanks to everybody who had a go, but we did have to reduce those thousands of images to just twelve, and award-winning photographer, Tom Lawlor came in to talk us through the winning entries. An exhibition of the winning entries will tour to Halifax branches nationwide.

Oisin McConville

Armagh star Oisin McConville has certainly experienced the ultimate highs and deepest lows of life. A central figure in bringing long over-due joy to an entire county in the 2002 All Ireland Final, he managed to keep the darkness of his private life secret from everyone. Little did anyone know that when he lifted the Sam Maguire Cup in 2002, he was in the grip of a horrible addiction to gambling. Oisin spoke candidly about the condition - and the interview received a tremendous reaction from viewers throughout the country.

Mr and Mrs Shane Lynch

Earlier this year, one of Ireland's best known bad boys of pop walked down the aisle a changed man. He's given up his wild ways, is looking forward to married life, starting a family and dedicates a lot of his time to God and to helping troubled teenagers. Former Boyzone bad boy, Shane Lynch, came into studio to introduce us to his new bride, Sheena.
