In the first episode we meet four lads - Tim, Daithi, Luke and Proinny - who are heading to San Diego the summer. Although they are initially happy with their San Diego gaff (it has a pool room), they quickly start fighting when they realise they are living out in the 'burbs', miles away from the beach and the parties.
When latecomer Luke shows up they organise a session to welcome him to San Diego. With the help of a certain fortified wine the drinking games get a little out of hand and the casualties pile up. In a drink-fuelled rage Proinny breaks his ankle. With no way to participate in the surfing and partying his summer seems in tatters. Will he stay or should he go home?
In Hawaii we meet our Dundalk group - Dean, Gina, Agne, Sorcha and Shane - who are a completely different kettle of fish. They find an apartment right on the waterfront with views of Waikiki beach, but they didn't read the small print and find it's an alcohol free zone.
Dean and Gina hit the streets and find some unusual sources of employment.
