The Hoffman Family
Dubliners David and Kathy Hoffman moved into their Blackrock home 3 years ago. Having modernised their home extensively and wanted a contemporary Diarmuid Gavin garden to match it.
They set Diarmuid a budget of ¤40,000 to create their dream garden.
Dimensions: 85ft long x 35ft wide
Diarmuid was challenged by the location but felt that the garden in its current state was "a big uninviting scene - a runway of lawn, a wide open space that you are almost wary of going into".
Diarmuid felt that the challenge was to create a garden that's a "journey - leading people through different areas until they find the perfect haven". He ultimately wanted to "introduce some magic and create a garden that reflects the new developments inside the home"
In keeping with the contemporary nature this garden features a "mixture of trees, shrubs and architectural foliage, occasionally sparkling with vibrant, lush almost sub - tropical flowers."
