Gemma McGovern
42 year old Gemma McGovern lives in Dublin. She's a heavy smoker and wants to stop but finds it difficult to break the habit. Her young son has a serious heart condition and she's determined to give up for his sake. She also has a poor health history and Dr Mark Hamilton is worried that she will compromise her life expectancy if she fails to take action now to improve her health. She receives support from a smoking cessation officer and stress management expert Therese Ryan. Gemma embraces her new lifestyle, trying a range of activities, including pottery and dance.
