The final programme in the new series of House Hunters in the Sun takes us to the Greek Island Crete. Our house hunters Penny Freer & Adrian Henderson are keen sailors and have dreamed of having their own place on the island near to the sea.
Penny & Adrian are in their mid fifties and are both widowed. Penny works a property re-locator so she is well accustomed to looking at property. They have been to Crete and have sailed around the Greek islands a number of times and love the place. The couple each have children from their previous marriages and have all been away together on holidays. However they would need to find a very large property to try and accommodate them all !
In the end they search the western part of the island for a cosy two bedroomed apartment which takes them near the beautiful town of Hania. They look at a variety of properties from new apartments to village houses. They had hoped to find an original Cretan style home but it proved to be difficult to find a genuine Greek house on the market. Penny & Adrian were tempted by an old house which was well within their budget of EURO 100,000. However in the end they decide to opt for a new apartment within easy reach of a local beach and village.
