NORTH SPAIN: PAUL AND JEN
Paul and Jen's search continues in Catalunya in the North of Spain, but it's proving difficult for them to find exactly what they want. This week their search starts with what could be a dream project. It's an old Masea or farmhouse near the picturesque village of Romana de la Seta.

The Masea is situated well off the main road and would take all of their €50,000 budget to get into any sort of condition. But with Jen's architectural background it could be a real labour of love. It's a real DIY lover's dream!

The next viewing is a modernist apartment in the heart of Girona. It also needs a bit of work, though not as much as the masea, but there are a lot of original features and it too might appeal to the architect in Jen. The asking price is €237,000, which is well within their budget.

But none of the properties have excited Paul and Jen enough to make an offer. It's time to leave Girona. Paul and Jen have seen a very good range of properties, from traditional new developments to a pile of rubble with potential! But none has emerged as a potential home for the next few years. Paul and Jen will have to return for more viewing later in the year.
