DEIRDRE & FINBAR RYAN

Finbar is from Galway and Deirdre is from Dublin. They live in Leitrim where they own a chain of pharmacies. They sold a couple of the pharmacies and therefore have some money to invest in a holiday home in the South of France. They go to France about 3 - 4 times a year.

They are a great, sparky couple. Deirdre says that they can’t agree on what to buy. They travel a lot and Finbar wonders why they should buy and tie themselves down. He’s set on the idea of a villa but she’s open to an apartment. However Deirdre says that she doesn’t want anything in an apartment complex. They would like 3 bedrooms in the property and would like a pool. Deidre feels she needs help to persuade him to her way of thinking. Finbar wants to be close to the coast, but Deidre says that she wouldn’t mind being up in the hills. They would consider a property that’s needs doing up but would want a recommended builder from the selling agent.

We concentrated our search in Cannes bringing them to a number of really great properties. Having seen the first couple of apartments / houses they decided they really needed to increase their budget from the original €500,000 to €750,000 if they wanted to get what their hearts were set on which turned out to be a place across the road from the beach, with a good bit of space and some private land which would be safe for the kids to run around in. Unfortunately we couldn’t find their ideal property and they are still continuing their search at the moment.
