PROGRAMME 5
CYPRUS

SUSAN AND KAREN DEMPSEY

Susan and Karen are a mother and daughter duo eager to buy together in Cyprus. Karen can’t afford to buy in Ireland and thinks that her best way on to the property ladder would be to buy in Cyprus. They both LOVE Cyprus and have been there dozens of times.  They always go to Ayia Napa and say it gets really bad press, but that there are beautiful parts.

Susan is separated and has 5 daughters.  She loves the outdoors. She doesn’t work and would love to have a place in Cyprus so that she could spend 3 - 4 months there a year. Karen is single, while her sisters are either married or live abroad, so it tends to be herself and Susan who holiday together in Cyprus. They get along very well and admit they can get a bit giddy together at times. Karen works in recruitment.

They are looking for a two bedroom apartment. They don’t want to do major renovations. Karen loves the idea of white marble in an apartment. They would want to be within biking distance of the beach as they love hiring out bikes. They don’t want to be remote and would enjoy mixing with the locals. The idea is that Susan will pay the deposit and Karen will pay the mortgage. Susan owns her house and says she would have a decent deposit to put down.

We brought them to a couple of properties in Ayia Napa but they weren’t too keen on those. We then introduced them to the Paralimini area.
