Like many couples who have raised their children Geraldine and Aidan Butler found that their 4-bedroom house had become too big, so they sold it and moved to a modern apartment by the sea in Greystones.
Even though an apartment wasn't their first choice, it turned out to be the perfect fit. While they were moving they decided to de-clutter their lives as well. They got rid of all their furniture and some sentimental possessions so they really did downsize in every way.
Aidan is a retired Eircom employee and is thoroughly enjoying his new life; he loves bird watching, walking and reading. Geraldine manages the photo section in a local pharmacy and loves to spend time in the gym.
From the sale of their house Geraldine and Aidan can afford to buy a second property. They'd like to be close to a village with shops and amenities but still want a flavour of country living. Our search brings us to Graignamanagh and Inishtioge, Co. Kilkenny.
