This week Liz O'Kane and Ian Lawlor help first time buyer Layla O'Mara, who has a budget of €400,000, to buy a home in Dublin.
Layla O'Mara (28) is an account manager working in an advertising agency in Sandymount. Having studied Drama and English at Trinity college Layla has a keen interest in the arts and has been involved in PR for the Dublin Fringe Festival.
For Layla Dublin still has a village feel, there's always something to do whether it's going to a play or meeting a friend for a drink. She hates traffic so Layla walks or cycles everywhere, commuting is out of the question as she says: "there's no point living a life in a city when you're nowhere near it."
She's moved 8 times in the last 5 years and she now wants a place to call her own. Layla has already bid on several properties and has always lost out to couples with a greater income. But hopefully with the help of our experts she'll be able to take her first steps onto the property ladder.
