Plays Martha MacKenzie

Born in Mackay Queensland on the 1st Feb 1985, 24 year old Jodi Gordon is most well known for her portrayal of Martha MacKenzie (Alf’s grand daughter) on HOME AND AWAY.

Jodi was raised in a sports orientated family and was a bit of a tomboy as a youngster, a trait she shares with her character Martha. Jodi could often be found playing cricket and football with her brother and cousins in the backyard. Jodi also played representative netball for four years from the age of 12 to 16.

Her interest in drama was sparked in high school and at age 13, Jodi’s life changed when she won a modelling competition. She gained a contract with Viviens and began modelling.

Jodi juggled school and modelling assignments both in Australia through high school. She travelled to Japan in Year 8 and 9 and worked on various editorial, advertorial and commercials both here and overseas.

In 2003, Jodi worked and travelled throughout Europe – basing herself in Milan and London for 11 months. Jodi arrived back in Sydney in 2004, where she continued her modelling assignments until she successfully auditioned for the role of Martha on Home and Away.

Jodi stars as Martha MacKenzie happy go lucky girl who was given up for adoption by Alf’s daughter Roo. Martha was raised by her adoptive family in a small rural town. She lived and worked on the family dairy farm. After the death of her adoptive mother, Martha decided to track down her biological parents – before finding her grand father in Summer Bay.

As Jodi enters her fourth year on Home and Away, she admits Martha’s path has not always been easy, “Martha has had a long journey, but she has also grown up and I feel she has come so far from the farm girl next door we first met.”

“I love working on Home and Away, and this year have been given the opportunity to challenge myself as an actor” she says.

In 2006 Jodi was awarded with a TV Week Logie for ‘most popular new female talent.’

Jodi’s hobbies include theatre, shopping, movies, diving, travelling and art. Jodi is passionate about styling and fashion, in 2006 was the face of jewellery brand Diva and is an ambassador of Crystelle lingerie.
