Urban sprawl has become suburban crawling traffic jams.

From Crumlin to Clonmel, Ashbourne to Armagh, Irish house style has changed enormously in the last 40 years.

Where once there was lino, now there is laminate.

Sleigh beds and shaker kitchens replace swirly carpets and eiderdowns.

But have we lost by throwing out the Super Ser and the Venetian blinds?
