De Niro fan Chris Newman spent his formative acting years dabbling in commercials from Dipstix to the Bank of Ireland. At 13, an age when most are preoccupied with the angst-ridden trials and tribulations of adolescence, he landed a role in 'Fair City' which recurred for about 2 years.
A year and six auditions later, he was cast in the role of Delaney in the award winning 'Song For A Raggy Boy' alongside Aidan Quinn and Iain Glenn.
At 16, Chris featured in the hit RTÉ drama 'Love Is The Drug', spending his summer break filming and living in Drogheda for 3 months. After completing his Leaving Cert, Chris was cast as John Keegan Jr in the drama 'Stardust'. Chris is no stranger to Tinseltown, having spent time with friend Omero Mumba in the Mumba family's Hollywood Hills home.
