Her partner’s parents had their home up for sale with an estate agent for over five months. Jennifer became disillusioned with estate agents and what seemed like long delays and high fees for little effort. So she decided to take things into her own hands and sell the house herself.
She went online and found the website privateseller.ie.
Despite having few computer skills she was able to get the details posted easily on the website. On Friday 13th July the Private Seller board went up. On Monday the 13th August she had an offer of the full asking price. And on Wednesday the 13th September the cheque was in the bank.
At 1% the estate agents fees would have been; €4912.
Her Own Sale cost € 199.
That’s a Saving of €4713
