Eco Heating

Liam from Co.Kildare

After extensive research Liam decided to convert his oil fired heating system to an Oat burning boiler.  The savings Liam makes in burning oats instead of oil means he will pay off the installation in 3 years and start to make significant savings after that.

Ireland has one of the best environments for growing oats, so supply should never become a problem.  Liam grows and burns black oats due to their higher oil content.  For those that cannot grow oats they can be purchased from your local grain merchant.  A tonne of oats lasts about the same length of time as 500litres of kerosene.

Costs of Installation:

Boiler €5400.00
Chimney €  900.00
Mixing Value €  250.00
labour €  568.94
