Car Import

Conor from Co. Laois

Conor bought a 2005 Saab 1.9 TiD (150 BHP) Vector Sport, with 7500miles on the clock – extras included 6 CD player, heated leather seats, reversing sensors.  With a budget of €30,000 Conor looked for a Saab in Ireland, but found nothing he liked. He then looked on the Autotrader website in the UK where he found Gordon Lamb Saab dealer in Sheffield.

Conor flew to Manchester, hired a car to travel to Sheffield, where he test-drove the Vector Sport.  He paid an on site deposit and negotiated a 2 year European wide Saab warranty, which means he is covered in Ireland.  On return home, Conor wired the dealer the outstanding cost of the car.  Two weeks later Conor flew back to collect the car, he drove to the ferry in Holyhead and was back home that night.  He registered his car with the Revenue Commissioners and paid the VRT.
