The Chefs

Dermot McDonnell (Team Thornton)

Navan man Dermot is Captain of his local rugby team so he knows how to lead from the front and motivate his team. He believes that these skills will transfer into the boiling pot of the HEAT kitchen and give him the ability to maul and ruck his way to victory.

But Dermot also has a soft side - he has just set up a residential care unit for troubled teens and is dedicated to helping young kids get back on track. And there might be a few square meals in it for them too.

Having taken advantage of his second chance in the Chef's Choice round, Dermot is now the most experienced of the six chefs still standing, but can he put that experience to good use?
