Hands On

This Week: 13th May 2007

Ok, so this series of Hands On has come to an end, but don't despair! For the next twelve weeks we'll bring you six programmes of the best stories from this series - so you get a second chance to see all your favourites! This week we bring you the Hands On Presenter Search, the waterpolo team's video diary from the European Championships in Hungary and the first item from our Environment series, in which Sarah Jane and Caroline role up their sleeves and learn how to reduce, reuse and recyle! For our younger viewers there's a second chance to see Molly and Mr Milk in Snowland - and win a great jigsaw. Enjoy!

Presenter Search

One of our most popular stories this year - at the beginning of the series we asked Hands On viewers to send in video auditions of themselves presenting a story. We whittled all the entries down to 8 finallists and the existing Hands On presenters put the hopefuls through some gruelling tasks to test their metal! I think you'll all agree that we got a great new presenter at the end of it! Tune in on Sunday to see the moment we chose Caroline Mcgrotty to be the new Hands On presenter.

Waterpolo Video Diary

Last September the Irish Deaf Water Polo team became the first Irish team, Deaf or hearing, to win a medal in a European Water Polo Championship when they travelled to Vac in Hungary to represent Ireland. Luckily, Paul Ryder brought a camera along with him and captured everything - the good, the bad and the ugly.!

Environment - Recycling

In the first part of our Environment series, Sean pays Sarah Jane and Caroline a surprise visit after a particularly wild party, to find their sitting room looking like a bottle bank! He brings them on a lovely tour of the local dump and recycling center to show them how they can reduce, reuse and recycle their rubbish, saving money and the planet all at the same time! Tune in to see how you too can make a difference, and check out the websites below for some useful hints and tips!

Molly and Mr. Milk - Snow!

Here's your chance to see the first of our new episodes of Molly & Mr Milk again! This week Molly and Mr. Milk find themselves in Snowland, where Molly makes friends with some snowflakes. But when she tries to save them from melting the sky gets angry!! Watch on Sunday to see what happens to poor Mr Milk!
You can still win a Molly and Mr Milk Jigsaw. There are four to be won - Molly & Mr Milk in Snowland, Rainland, Springland & Windyland. To win one all you have to do is draw a picture of Molly & Mr Milk in Snowland!
