Francis Brennans Grand Tour

Programme 1

Francis Brennans Grand Tour
Barcelona - Sagrada Família

Barcelona

In tonight's programme the tour kicks off and Francis and his tour group nervously fly from Dublin to Barcelona where they meet their feisty Italian coach driver. It's Francis's first time as a tour guide and the pressure is on to give his tourists - who have paid hard cash - the holiday of a lifetime.

The tour begins with a visit the iconic sights of the city; including the masterpieces of local boy and architectural genius Antoni Gaudi - the giant basilica, Sagrada Familia, the weird and wonderful architecture of Guell Park and Casa Mila with its amazing rooftop statues. Whilst they're in Barcelona the Grand Tourists also fit in a visit to Barcelona's most famous street, Las Ramblas, which runs through the heart of the city, the world-renowned food market, La Boqueria and Tibidabo, the amusement fair which sits high above the city.

Will the tour be happy with Francis on the first couple of days. Will the tour get on or will there be one of two people who will begin to cause trouble for the rest of the group?

BOSC DE LA FADES
Translates as Fairies Wood. Bar set up as if you were inside an enchanted forest.

Bar Hivernacle - Live concerts and classical jazz are often on the menu here in this converted greenhouse built in 1884.

Bar Pastis - this little bar was opened as a tribute to Edith Piaf, the famous cabaret singer in the late 1940's and features only French music while serving only pastis, an anise flavored liqueur.

La Fira - Old fairground equipment is the primary feature of the interior décor so your seat might be in an old bumper car or an old swing.
