This brand-new third series Brides of Franc sees Ireland's best-loved event designer work his magic in New York, the Caribbean and four venues across Ireland. As befits the country's leading wedding planner, the series kicks off in Ireland in a venue where Franc has never worked before: the Aran Islands.
Máirtín Eoin Coyne and Aoife Flaherty have known each other since childhood, having grown up together on Inis Mór. Both live in Galway, where Mairtín Eoin is a Rossaveal-based trawlerman and Aoife is a social worker in the city. The couple's desire to have their eco-friendly and organic wedding on the island is complicated by the fact that there is only one venue large enough to hold all their guests: the local community halla.
Through January gales, with storms and colossal waves breaking across the Atlantic, Franc will literally have to ship his equipment lock, stock and barrel to Inis Mór in an attempt to give the halla a complete makeover. Balancing a distinctively modern wedding with the traditions and setting of the island, and hoping for a break in the weather, this will be one of Franc's biggest challenges to date.
