Clodagh McKenna trained as a chef at Ballymaloe Cookery School before going on to work as a chef at Ballymaloe House for 3 years.
Inspired by a visit to Midleton Farmers Market, she set up her own stall selling fresh pasta and pates, and six months later she decided to do the markets full time.
Since then she has travelled accross Ireland selling her own produce and setting up new markets. She is editor of the Slow Food Ireland Guide to Producers and has written for The Irish Times, The Sunday Tribune, Aer Lingus Magazine, and writes a weekly column for the Irish Examiner Weekend supplement and a monthly column for Food and Wine Magazine.
She has appeared as a cook and promoter of local produce on RTE's, Out of The Blue; Rick Stein's Food Heroes, (BBC2) , TV3's Ireland AM Show, BBC's Saturday Kitchen, ITV's Saturday Cooks UKTV's Good Food Live and RTE's 'The Afternoon Show'.
She also has her own weekly radio program on RTE Radio 1 and has just finished writting her first cookery book called "The Irish Farmers Market Cook Book' which will be published by Collins on 6th November 200
